About Cassandra

For more than three decades, I poured my heart into education.

I was a teacher, instructional leader, principal, mentor, and lifelong advocate for helping others succeed. Like many women, I spent years caring for students, colleagues, family, and everyone else before myself.

Then life reminded me that tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.

Within just a few years, I faced one life-changing challenge after another—a 30-year career came to an unexpected end, I battled breast cancer, experienced a retinal detachment that threatened my vision, became a caregiver for aging parents, and grieved the loss of my best friend to lung cancer.

Those experiences didn’t stop me.

They transformed me.

Instead of asking, “Why me?”

I started asking,

“If not now…when?”

That question changed everything.

I began traveling with intention.

I focused on wellness instead of simply recovering from burnout.

I rediscovered joy.

And I created Sustah-Girl Chronicles so other women could do the same.

Today, I believe the second half of life isn’t about slowing down.

It’s about becoming the woman you’ve always wanted to be.
