Step by Step: The Benefits of Walking

The Benefits of Walking

Walk Everyday and Anytime

You can experience the benefits of walking every day or at any time. Even when you travel, take walking tours to explore your vacay location. During daily walks, take a camera or use your smartphone and begin a new hobby in photography. Take time to reflect and problem-solve while taking a daily stroll or power walk. There is so much to experience while getting the benefits of walking.

Play some music to help pass the time during your stroll. You can use Bluetooth earbuds or headphones. Be cognizant of the volume level. While you want to rock the house in your head, the volume should not be too loud. You still want to monitor sights and sounds going on around you.

Now, here’s an interesting statistic. America Walks informs you that one-fourth of all trips in the United States are one mile or less. Most of these trips are by car. Imagine if more people walk instead of driving for less than one mile. Consequently, if more people walked there would be less traffic, less pollution due to cars, and less wear and tear on the infrastructure. Also, people would be more proactive towards their health instead of reactive to ailments.

  1. Great motivational article to benefit everyone regardless of age. I always tell people that walking is free and it uses the body’s natural ability to push and move forward. Also the heart and lungs get a workout as well. I feel that walking is therapeutic as it clears the head by getting the endorphins moving.
